Adam Shearer born John Adam Weinland Shearer and better known by his band and recording name Weinland is an American singer-songwriter.  Shearer has released four studio albums as WEINLAND and is also a founding member of the band Alialujah Choir.  A Montana to Portland transplant, Shearer has been receiving national acclaim for his onstage dynamics.  The San Francisco Guardian says “Adam Shearer, channels Elliot Smith’s frail whisper — and like Smith’s, his voice can stand steadfastly alone over a single guitar or piano note.” while Filter Magazine says, “Portland’s WEINLAND seem to be on a quest to clear the air on any confusion as to what it means to be an American rock band.”

Shearer’s music has appeared on MTV, NBC, and in a multitude of independent films.  A video for the song “A House, A Home”, an Alialujah Choir song sung and co-written by Shearer, has received over 30 international film awards.  The video can be viewed here:

Shearer’s other musical outlets include frequent appearances with Portland Cello Project.  A recent live performance of Exit Music (For a Film), written by Radiohead and performed by Portland Cello Project, made its way around the internet earlier this year and has received national praise.  The video of the live performance can be viewed here:
